Hi! Let me present you my new model, Karin. I love to have her not only because she brings diversity to my site but also because of her personality and characteristic look. Do you remember me promising you to write and create makeup look for autumn? Today is the day! I'll wrote about why I think it's a good choice for this awesome season, what products were used and I will also describe the process how I created it.
The first step was cleaning her face with micellar water. She wore her own foundation, so I had to remove it. I used my favourite product to clean her face. It's the pink packaged Bioderma for every skin type. I tested it for a long time and it's great for sensitive skin, too. This is very important because I don't have to be afraid of my model turning red. Every skin reacts to these removers differently so take it seriously!
The foundation I used was the new Pro Filt'r Hydrating Longwear foundation from Fenty Beauty, because I needed a little bit higher coverage. This is the first time I used it on a model and I liked it but I won't tell you more because there will be a dedicated post describing it to the finest detail. I applied it with the 104/BUFFER brush. To get a perfect skin I decided to use my Concealer Spectrum Palette from Zoeva. I didn't need it on her whole face, only on the most problematic areas. I really recommend to use the 142/CONCEALER BUFFER or some similar brush to apply and blend out the concealer.
The next step was contouring her face. I chose the Natural Face palette from Too Faced this time and picked up the Sunny Honey shade with the 101/LUXE FACE DEFINER. She has a really light skin tone, so I was careful not to overdo.
I used the same palette and brush to blush, but with different shade, the Pink Wink. It's important, because after applying the foundation the face is pale and a little bit sick looking. This product brings it a little colour.
The last product on her face was the highlighter. I decided to use the Sun Dipped Glow Kit from Anastasia Beverly Hills. I opted for the Tourmaline shade, which was applied with the 129/LUXE FAN brush. It gives a healthy shine to the skin.
Her eyebrows are nicely shaped, but they weren't dense enough and I had to fill in the missing threads. I combed out her brows to see which threads are missing and has to be redrawn. I used the #12 brush from Anastasia Beverly Hills and the Dipbrow Pomade. The brush is double-ended, so it was perfect for these steps. To finish the eyebrows I had to comb out the threads with the Brow Set from MAC to get a natural result.
I made a low-key eye makeup, because I knew I want to use a vibrant shade on her lips, but at the same time I still considered it important to use some Prep + Prime eyeshadow base primer from MAC. I applied it with my fingers, as I always do.
Next up were the eye shades. I was working with the Sun Dipped Glow Kit from Anastasia Beverly Hills, again. Yes, I know it's a highlighter palette, but did you know that it works well on eyelids, too? I blew some Prep+ Prime Fix+ to the brush (234/LUXE SMOKY SHADER) before applying the shade. It gave me a more vibrant colour. I used two shades from this palette, the Bronzed and the Summer.
To put some spotlight on her eyes I picked up the Black Truffle shade from the Textured Shadows palette from Huda Beauty as an eyeliner. I like to use the 317/WING LINER for this step. I used this powdery shade on her upper eyelids, but I opted for the Jet Waterproof Créme Color for her waterline. I used the same brush.
Let's talk about the lashes. She had her own 3D lashes already on, but I glued up the Natural Black Wispies from Ardell. I needed longer and thicker lashes to emphasise her green eyes.
Given her skin tone and the colour of her clothes I put more emphasis on her lips. I was trying to match the precise hue of the colour of her outfit and I think I succeeded. I used the Burnished Berry shade on her lips from the Lip Palette from Anastasia Beverly Hills. I use this palette frequently and this is probably my most used palette. The 331/PRECISION LIP was a brush to apply the shade and draw her lips a little bit thicker. I didn't use lip gloss, I let the lipstick turn into matte.
This was today's makeup tutorial, I hope you found it helpful. :)
P.S.: The brushes I used on her face and eyes are all from Zoeva.
