URBAN DECAY - NAKED SMOKY
Updated: Oct 9, 2018
Welcome back! Today, I'll be reviewing the Naked Smoky eyeshadow palette from URBAN DECAY. At first I wanted to try one palette from this brand, mainly because there are lots of swatches on the Instagram and Youtube and I was curious to find out if its worth the hype. I wondered how pigmented the shades are in real life. That is why I bought and tested the first Naked palette of the brand, but there is no brand which has all its product perfect. Am I wrong? My parents knew exactly what to buy for my birthday, so I was able to try this Naked Smoky palette out. Let's see how it performed.
Price: 40£ - 56€ - 54$
The Naked Smoky palette comes with 12 eyeshadows, and comes with 3 finishes:
Shimmer (High, Dirtysweet, Radar, Armor)
Satin (Slanted, Dagger, Black Market, Smolder)
Matte (Password, Whiskey, Combust, Thirteen)
It comes packaged in thin cardboard case and you can see the product name on the top with big capital letters. The Naked Smoky eyeshadow palette has plastic packaging and it has smoke imitation printed on the cover.
You'll get a double-ended brush with the palette. I have written several times that I like, when the manufacturers add their own brush to their palette. In the past I reviewed the Naked, the Full Spectrum and the Illuminated Trio palette, which also include a brush (a good quality brush). I hoped that the Naked Smoky contains a perfect brush too. I have tried it, and I was satisfied with it. I like that the brand gives different brushes to their palettes. It means that you'll get the type of brush you need for one or the other palette.
It also includes a mirror. This is not so important, because you can use other mirrors at home, but I prefer palettes, which does have a mirror because it's pretty useful when traveling. You can think that every bathroom usually has a mirror, but the lighting may not be enough what means that you need to find a window and have your own mirror with you. I personally prefer natural light.
The palette contains every shade you'll use to create perfect neutral smoky eye-look. The shades are highly pigmented and easy to apply without creating much fall out. I always use eyeshadow primer at first therefore the shades beautifully stayed in place all day.
The brand is cruelty-free and they have some vegan products, too.
